Do I need to register for the keynotes? Is there an additional fee?
Yes. Although most registration packages include free admission to the keynotes, you’ll still need to register for the keynotes you’d like to attend during Step 2 of the online registration process. These registration packages require an additional fee to attend the keynotes: Guest pass, Expo pass, and Events and Expo pass.
I’m a new AIA member. Am I eligible for free registration?
How to use it: Log in to the convention registration website as an AIA member. Select the “New Member” package. Your shopping cart will display $0 for your package price. Workshops, tours, and some events carry an additional charge.
How do I make changes to my registration?
If you want to add or modify programs (workshops, seminars, tours, and events) or register a guest or colleague, log in to your registration record. If you have a change that requires a payment adjustment, email customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 800-343-4146 (outside the U.S. call 847-996-5850).
How long do I have to complete my registration?
You have 48 hours to complete your registration once you begin. After 48 hours your registration record will still be available. However, the programs you selected will no longer be in your cart.
Please note: You must register for keynotes and continuing education seminars to be guaranteed a seat.

Are discounts available?
Young professionals, AIAS members, and students can take advantage of special pricing. New AIA members are eligible for free convention registration. We also offer early bird and advance registration rates.
How do I register as a guest?
After you answer the demographic questions, you’ll have the option to add guests. A guest is a family member, personal friend, or child of a registered attendee. Business associates and staff colleagues must register separately.
If my spouse is receiving an award, do I need to register?
Yes. Please register as a Guest or for the Expo Pass.
Will I receive my badge in the mail?
No. Please bring your e-mail registration confirmation to the AIA registration area at the Orange County Convention Center. You’ll print your badge and receive your lanyard and bag at this location.

Do I have to register for sessions? How about the keynotes?
Yes. Tours and sessions can fill up, especially mid-day on the expo floor! We recommend registering early for all seminars, tours, events, and keynotes you plan to attend to get your top picks. Here’s how:
- Browse the schedule before you register.
- Write down the program codes for seminars, workshops, tours, and events you want to attend.
- Enter these codes during Step 2 when you register online.
I registered for the sessions I want to attend. How do I claim my seat onsite?
Show up to the classroom 15 minutes before the seminar starts and scan your name badge to enter and claim your seat. Starting 10 minutes before the seminar begins, we’ll release any unclaimed seats on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Is there a wait list for sold-out programs?
No. We recommend checking the online schedule to see if seats open up. At convention, you can wait at the classroom entrance to see if an unclaimed seat becomes available.
Is free Wi-Fi available in the convention center?
Yes. Free basic Wi-Fi service is available in all public spaces, ballrooms, and classrooms. It is not available on the expo floor.
